Review: This review is loooonnnngggg overdue. How long? I’ve already used up the entire compact! Currently, I’m left with the powder on the sides of the compact where the brush can’t really get to. Now I’ve been using those leftovers to make homemade tinted moisturizer (post on that to come later). All kidding aside, I think face powder is one of the essentials of make-up. On my super lazy days, I usually drop everything but the face powder. At the least, I figure, I can look halfway decent by having a matte face, especially on days (and season) where my skin is more oily as well as help make my skintone look more even. I’ve never tried applying face powder through wet application, so I can only assume that doing it this way would make it seem as if you’re putting cream foundation on. I loved this powder, it had great coverage as well as kept my face matte for most of the day. My nose (which is the oiliest part of my face) would need some blotting halfway through the day, but that was it. I didn’t get why you got a sponge as an applicator as opposed to a puff, but I didn’t use it so that didn’t make much of a difference (I’m used to applying powder at home with a face brush, I use a puff when I’m out and about). Someday, I’ll get around to purchasing this again but in the meantime I have about 10 powder compacts that are waiting in my make-up drawer to be tested. The cost is pretty normal for powder from a higher end brand, but if you can get your hands on your shade while it is on sale at Lorac it is an absolute steal!

Review: Another palette to add to the collection. 🙂 While this product is a great value at $15 for 7 eyeshadows, I have to admit I’m a little disappointed about the colors themselves. Maybe it’s because my idea of what a “nude” palette should be doesn’t really match some of the shades included in this one. Although in general, that’s how I feel about palettes. Unless it’s a customized one, I feel there’s always a shade or two (or three) that I’ll rarely or will ever use. It’s the “risk” I’ve come to accept when I buy palettes. The fact that I can add on a numerous amount of shades in one go makes up for the fact that there’s possibly gonna be one I’ll never use.

Application-wise, these definitely don’t disappoint. The highly-pigmented formula of Lorac eyeshadow definitely give Urban Decay’s Naked Palette a run for its money (for the price of 1 Naked palette, you can buy almost 4 of these!). That’s the one thing I’ve loved about both of the Lorac palettes I currently own. Like the Naked palette, you only need a couple of swipes from the palette with your eyeshadow brush to apply to your entire lid. The shadows can last through the day without having to be re-applied, especially with the help of some eyelid primer and face powder. It’s definitely a good addition to the make-up arsenal without feeling like you just broke the bank!

Review: This was another “on-a-whim” (there seems to be lots of those on my blog ^^ But I think those lead to great discoveries) purchase while I was browsing through Lorac’s website. The palette is an absolute steal for $15! And since I’m a big fan of neutral/natural eye colors, I didn’t think twice about ordering this palette. It’s a baked palette, so I was expecting something similar to the Sephora Collection palette I had. But when I got this one, I was surprised. The eye shadows felt silky and less dry than the Sephora baked palette. The colors are vibrant and can be used as part of your everyday makeup. I haven’t gotten a chance to try the primer because I currently use one by Missha. The packaging is a little bulky, but it is pretty nice (the box has a mirror included). This one was definitely a great addition to my eye shadow collection!

Review: I usually don’t purchase designer lip gloss, as I’m notorious for losing lip gloss all the time. Plus, when I was dealing with my chapped lips, lip gloss didn’t look right on me, but rather I felt it accentuated my chapped lips (and not in a good way!). However, I purchased this on a whim during one trip to Sephora. They had it on sale, so I figured why not give it a try. Once I got home, I read a lot of good reviews about it so I felt good about purchasing it. I tried it the following day and fell in love. Now, I use these every day! What I didn’t like about most other lip glosses (whether it was a designer or grocery brand) is that they are too sticky and they seem to dry out fast. But not these! Not only are they long-lasting, they don’t give you the sticky feeling like other glosses. In a day, I probably only need to re-apply the gloss twice (only because I end up wiping them off after I eat). If you can find this set somewhere, don’t hesitate to purchase it. It’s definitely well-worth the $27 it’s listed for.
